 2009 Social event news13 Apr : 15:05 Children’s Social Events· This year the Social Committee are taking a different approach to children’s sailing and social events. · A summer children’s events programme will be circulated in time for the summer holidays so families can plan to attend some or all of the events. Some events will be ‘ad hoc’ depending on the weather and it is intended to spend time on the water, land, clubroom and club garden which will help to give a good all round approach to what is needed to be known when going sailing - from tying a knot to repairing a simple boat breakage to learning sailing terms to helming and crewing a boat ! · We hope this programme will help the children form friendships, gain experience, knowledge and an interest they can pursue all their life – but most of all to have fun ! · To contribute ideas, make a commitment to the programme or just general enquiries contact Julie or Julian Heal on 01502 724855. The success of the programme and enjoyment by the children will depend on how committed parents, grandparents and those interested in helping are for the children.
