| This Week Friday 24th June – Bar Open from 6pm Thanks to our amazing volunteers the bar will be open from 6pm tonight . The bar is the engine of the club helping fund all our activities as well as being the best (and cheapest) place to get a drink in Southwold, pop down enjoy the sunny weather on the balcony, support the club and have a drink or two in the process. Saturday 25th June – Orford Cruise POSTPONED The forecast is for strong SE winds on Sunday, unfortunately this will mean the entrances at Orford and Southwold are a bit too lively. Therefore the decision has been made to postpone the weekend cruise. An alternative date will be scheduled. Sunday 26th June – River Racing, Summer Series 1. HW 09:56 First race start 11:00 Register here Wednesday 29th June – Work Party There will be a work party from 5pm on Wednesday. Jobs include sandbags filling to block the hole on the slip as a temporary measure. Pressure wash slipway. Finishing off painting the start box. Strimming the banks around boats. Removal of rubbish behind the club attach the digital lock to the top door install a chain around the gas bottles As always the more the merrier and the bar will be open for drinks afterwards. |
| Last Week Sunday 12th June – Spring Series A bit of match racing to finish the series with just 2 lasers on the startline. New member Mike Smith took the win in both races with Neil 2nd in the first and forced to retire in race 2 with a broken mast. Saturday/Sunday 18th/19th June A quiet weekend at the club with alot of people away or busy for fathers day. Junior member Hugh Walker competed in the RYA East Region Championships finishing a creditable 10th in the 22 boat Optimist fleet. While brother Bertie had fun in the on boarding fleet, aimed at sailing with games Elsewhere Sebastian Smith finished 4th including a race win and brother Fraser finished 6th at the Midlands Junior Championships at Draycote How many juniors can we get there next year?? |

| Tuesday/Wednesday 21st/22nd June A few of our members enjoyed an evening sail this week, including safety boat Matt getting into a laser! Well done Matt!     |
